DyStar is pleased to announce that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) with the objective of strengthening the Group's commitment towards sustainability.

Further building on its environmental and social accountability, DyStar is pleased to take the pledge according to the ten principles of UNGC and adopt this globally recognized policy framework for the development, implementation, and disclosure of environmental, social, and governance policies and practices within the company with the objective of strengthening its commitment towards sustainability and establishing itself as a sustainability leader in the Textile and Chemical Industry.

As a leading global supplier of dyes and chemicals to the textile and leather industries, DyStar not only has a long history of action to reduce the environmental impact of the supply chain but also recently issued its first corporate Sustainability Report prepared according to GRI principles.

Signing the Letter of Commitment, Harry Dobrowolski, CEO/President of the DyStar Group said “Our membership of the United Nations Global Compact signifies our commitment to adopt more positive and sustainable practices in our daily operations through innovation, commerce, technology and services that benefits the economies and societies worldwide.”

DyStar is a founding member of ETAD, a System Partner of bluesign and a member of the the Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Textile Exchange. DyStar adheres to the principles of SA 8000 standards for Social accountability.

The Global Compact principles will help DyStar to further strengthen its already established framework and strategy for social and environmental responsibility.

DyStar, with a heritage of over 100 years of both product and application innovation, was founded in 1995 as a coloration specialist for the textile and leather industries. Since then, the company has transformed itself into a solution provider, offering customers a complete range of colorants, auxiliaries and services.

The United Nations Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. By doing so, business, as a primary driver of globalization, can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies everywhere.
