SIMA's Texfair 2012 to take off on March 2

“TEXFAIR 2012”, a four-day International Textile Machinery, Accessories, Spares & Logistics Exhibition, the 7th edition in its series, being organized by the Southern India Mills' Association [SIMA] is ready to showcase the modern developments during March 2-5, 2012 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Avanashi Road, Coimbatore 641 014. The visiting hours are from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

In a press meet, Mr.T.Rajkumar, Chairman, Organising Committee, Texfair 2012 and Deputy Chairman, SIMA has informed that 150 exhibitors will be displaying their products / services in 170 stalls. He has said that the major products that would be displayed at the Fair would include textile machinery, spares, accessories, testing equipments, electrical and electronic components, etc.

He has further said that apart from leading textile machinery, spares, accessories manufacturers / suppliers from Tamilnadu, exhibitors from other States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, New Delhi and Karnataka would also display their products. He added that different countries that would be participating in the Expo would include China, Germany and Japan.

Mr Rajkumar has further said that textile mills on an average spend 2.5 to 3% of their annual turnover on spares and accessories and also plough back 4 to 6% of their annual turnover on modernization. He has said that Texfair 2012 would be an ideal platform for these mills to zero in their requirements, meet all the suppliers under one roof and prudently plan their investments, cut costs and improve the quality of the products they manufacture, particularly with almost four million spindles are being added every year in the country.

He has further said that the Fair would also give an opportunity for the textile mills to plan their ongoing and future investments in the mills. He has appealed to all the textile mills to visit the Exhibition and derive maximum benefits.

Mr.T Rajkumar has said that around 50,000 visitors from all over the country covering Managing Directors / Directors / Executives and shop floor technicians are likely to visit the Exhibition during the four days.

Coinciding the Texfair 2012, seminars on the topics of “Energy Conservation & Power Planning” between 11.00 am and 12 noon, “Energy Savings in Air Compressors” between 3.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m., will be held on March 3, 2012, and on March 4, 2012, Seminar on “Natural Gas Supplies through Cochin-Bangalore-Mangalore Pipeline (GAIL)” will be held between 11.00 a.m. and 11.45 a.m., and “Gas Based Captive Power Generation” between 11.45 am and 12.30 p.m. have been organized at the Conference Hall of the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex for the benefit of textile mill owners and the officials.

Mr.T.Rajkumar further informed that a Textile Product Show coinciding the Texfair 2012 for yarn manufacturers and end users has also been organized. About 20 leading mills would participate and show case their yarn, fabric, made-ups and garments in the product show. This Product Show is aimed at bringing the yarn manufacturers and end users viz., the handloom and power loom weavers to source the yarn.
