The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Kaduna state government have been urged to expedite their efforts aimed at helping the people by resurrecting the textile units in the state.
Making the appeal, the Kaduna state branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) said the business activities, particularly in the northern part of the country, have been severely affected.
Delivering his acceptance speech after being elected as the new Chairman of the NSE in the state, Eng. Abdul Audu said reviving the textile industries in the state is the best thing that the government can do at present to ease the situation.
He said the NSE's Kaduna state branch has done commendably well over years and has met acclamation both from within and outside the state.
They would be grateful if the government pays a heed to their appeal to resuscitate the textile industries in the state, Mr. Audu said.
He urged all the members of the society to utilize their experience, and stated that building collapse would become a history of the past if all engineers worked in close cooperation.
