The Chinese trade deficit posted a nine-year high in February to touch US $31.49 billion. Overall exports in the month reached $114.47 billion against imports of $145.96 billion.
In the month under review, exports grew at 18.4 percent from a year earlier, while imports rose at a blistering pace of 39.6 percent year-on-year.
February exports and imports also reversed the declining trend witnessed in January. In January exports had dipped by 0.5 percent and imports had fallen by 15.3 percent.
