The '2012 Chinese Silk Spring Fair' which concluded last month, witnessed the highest number of Indians visiting the trade fair.
The value of orders placed by the Indian contingent was also more than 65 percent of all the orders received at the silk fair.
The fair received more than 110 visiting traders from India, Hong Kong, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Thailand, Pakistan and Nepal, of which 60 were from India.
The actual and expected transactions stood at US $7.98 million, down 59.60 percent from the last fair.
However, gray silk fabric orders rose 46.5 percent to $1.46 million, while volume fell 7.58 percent to 305,000 meters.
Among countries, orders from India reached $5.22 million, a dip of 70.58 percent; with Japan $722,800, down 51.81 percent and with EU $1.62 million, up 253.26 percent.
