Delhi was witness to the first ever premium “Lifestyle Pakistan Exhibition” from April 12 to 15, where over 100 top-of-the-line Pakistani textile companies showcased products in fashion apparel, home textiles, leather goods and home accessories.
Some of the key exhibitors at the event were niche brands like Gul Ahmed, AlKaram, Hub Leather, Khaadi, Chen One, Bonanza & Orient Textile Mills, etc. On display was also the widest variety of the phenomenal designer 'Lawn Fabric' that has taken the fashion world by storm.
Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig is the Chairman of Pakistan-based Baig Group of Industries and Pak Denim. Dr Baig is also the Federal Advisor on Textiles in the Pakistan government and was one of those from Pakistan who partook in the event.
Expressing his delight to fibre2fashion, Dr Baig said, “It was an amazing exhibition; all the exhibitors were very happy. The exhibition went off very well. The exhibitors sold most of the goods that they had brought”.
He added, “I think the exhibitors did business totaling to around Rs 500 million within the four days that the exhibition lasted”.
He especially praised Mr Anand Sharma, Indian Minster for Commerce by saying, “I send my special thanks to the honorable Commerce Minister for providing special assistance at the customs point, as none of us had any hassles at the airport on arrival. We all appreciate it greatly”.
