Manipur organizes awareness programme for handloom weavers

An awareness programme on 'Financial assistance for handloom weavers under state and district handloom schemes' was organized by the office of the Project Manager (Handloom), District Handloom & Textiles (Imphal West), Government of Manipur (India).
Separately, interested weavers from APEX Handloom Cooperative Society, Primary Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd. and State Handloom Corporation were asked by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) to submit their application seeking financial assistance under the Marketing Incentives Component of the Integrated Handloom Development Scheme for 2011-12 & 2012-13 to the office of Project Manager (Handloom), District H/L & Textile, Manipur on or before April 4, 2012.
Under the scheme, financial assistance equal to 10 percent of the average sales turnover of the last three years will be provided, which will be equally shared between the Union and State governments.
