Indian polyester filament yarn maker Nakoda Limited has posted a net profit of Rs. 144.1 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2012, as against net profit of Rs. 106.4 million registered during the same quarter in fiscal 2010-11, showing a year-on-year growth of 35.42 percent.
The company's net sales, too, increased by 38.86 percent year-on-year from Rs. 4.508 billion during fourth quarter of previous fiscal to Rs. 6.26 billion during the period under review.
The surge in Nakoda's net profit and sales is mainly attributed to a growth in the company's income from the manufacturing segment, which leaped by 95.24 percent to Rs. 4.577 billion during January-March 2012 from Rs. 2.345 billion during the corresponding quarter of 2010-11.
