Under the agreement, CEVA Home, CEVA’s specialist home delivery unit, will make more than 70,000 deliveries each year for the Silentnight, Rest Assured and Sealy brands. CEVA will collect mattresses and divan bases from two manufacturing sites in Lancashire and Cumbria and deliveries will be made on behalf of major national retailers who sell Silentnight’s products.
CEVA will be responsible for contacting end customers to agree a delivery date from CEVA’s National Customer Contact Center in Warrington, which provides a comprehensive service from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 6pm on Saturdays. The home delivery service includes placement of the item in the customers’ room of choice, assembly if required and the collection of old mattresses and divan bases for recycling and disposal. CEVA’s unique capability to offer an integrated approach, from Freight Management to warehousing and white glove home delivery helps to differentiate CEVA in the market place.
Neil Birch, Group Logistics Director for Silentnight Group commented: “CEVA’s ability to demonstrate industry leading levels of quality through the company’s ethos of operational excellence and commitment to customer service were key factors in the award of this contract. As our supply chain partner, CEVA forms an integral part of our customer facing operation and through our integrated approach we look forward to delivering excellent service for our customers and efficiencies in the supply chain for our shareholders.”
CEVA’s Senior General Manager, Business Development for the Consumer and Retail sector in the UK, Jon Evans, said: “We are delighted to have been selected by Silentnight Group as their home delivery service provider. Replacing three previously separate home delivery suppliers, we will provide Silentnight Group with a single, consistent, quality focused service, enabling them to focus on their core business activities of manufacturing and selling their products.”
