Asian MEG prices surge, PSF declines

Paraxylene (PX) prices increased in the Asian market. In S E Asian region, PX prices were offered in the range of US$ 1255/ton to US$ 1260/ton. In F E Asian region, PX prices were offered at US$ 1240/ton. PX imported from Taiwanese market moved up and were quoted in the range of US$ 1250/ton to US$ 1255/ton.

PTA prices surged up in the Asian region. In S E Asian market, PTA prices increased and were offered in the range of US$ 950/ton to US$ 955/ton. In F E Asian market, PTA prices were quoted at US$ 945/ton. PTA imported from Taiwanese market inched up and were assessed in the range of US$ 925/ton to US$ 930/ton. In Chinese domestic market, PTA prices moved up and were offered in the range RMB 7150/ton to RMB 7200/ton.

Ethylene prices remained stable in the Asian market. In S E Asian region, Ethylene prices were offered in the range of US$ 930/ton to US$ 935/ton. In F E Asian region, Ethylene prices were offered at US$ 855/ton.

In U.S.A market, Ethylene prices went down and were quoted in the range of 43.00 cents/pound to 43.50 cents/pound. Ethylene prices declined in European international market and were assessed at US$ 1045/ton, while prices stayed stable in European domestic market and were witnessed at € 835/ton.

MEG prices followed an upward trend in Asia. In S E Asian region, MEG prices surged up and were assessed at US$ 850/ton. In China market, MEG prices went up in the range of US$ 835/ton to US$ 840/ton. In Chinese domestic market, MEG prices inched up and were quoted in the range RMB 6425/ton to RMB 6475/ton.

In S E Asian region, BG PET Chips prices remained stable in the range of US$ 1290/ton to US$ 1310/ton. In F E Asian market, selling offers were around US$ 1300/ton for export goods. In Chinese market, BG PET Chip prices declined and were offered at RMB 8950/ton.

In Korean market, FG PET Chips prices remained steady and were offered in the range of US$ 1180/ton to US$ 1220/ton. In Indian market, FOB based price were quoted in the range of US$ 1220/ton to US$ 1260/ton. In Chinese market, FG PET Chip prices declined and were quoted in the range of RMB 8525/ton to RMB 8575/ton.

PSF prices declined in the Asian region. In F E Asian market, PSF prices moved down to US$ 1340/ton. In S E Asian market, PSF selling offers were at US$ 1240/ton. In Chinese domestic market, PSF prices plunged down and were quoted in the range of RMB 9425ton to RMB 9475/ton.

In Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY, DTY and FDY remained steady and were offered at RMB 9600/ton, RMB 11000/ton and RMB 9400/ton respectively. In export market, offers for POY DTY and FDY remained stable and were witnessed at US$ 1280/ton, US$ 1460/ton, and US$ 1235/ton respectively.
