Square Textile Mill up in flames

Processing room of Square Textile Mill at Saradaganj in Sadar upazila was on fire Thursday afternoon.
The fire destroyed machinery worth Tk 5 crore, informed Abdur Rashid, General Manager of the mill.
Fire brigade sources said that due to electric short circuit, the fire broke out at the mill around 3:30 pm and damaged the machinery installed in its processing room.
However, the loss estimated by fire service officials and mill authorities was differing. Rashid claimed that loss caused by fire would be around Tk 30 crore but the fire service officials put the figure at about Tk 5 crore.
