Printing, embroidering, flocking and custom-made products - from the beginnings of viscom, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication, Technology and Design, textile finishing has been an integral part of the fair. This year, many exhibitors again present up-to-date technologies and the latest generation of machinery in the printing, processes and materials segments at viscom in Frankfurt.

The trade fair showcases novelties in the areas of embroidery machines, textile print media, adhesive systems, screen printing and transfer technologies, embroidering yarns, embroidery technology systems, textiles and transfer presses, and thus targets the classic visitor groups from the textile and processes sectors, such as providers of printing services and textile finishers.

The full range of technical possibilities is presented on the exhibitor side by renowned companies such as Gröner Print Equipment, A. Berger, IVM Signtex or Forever. DP Solutions, Heinz Walz and IVB Transfer also present innovative processes and application examples to trade visitors from the industry. The leading national and international digital print manufacturers will also be represented.

Themes at the fair are not only the new technical developments in the machinery sector, but also the large variety of application areas. These days all types of textiles can be printed on, and effects can be produced on practically all materials. The demand from companies for individualised custom-made products is also growing. And the possibilities seem to be unlimited. As a result, textile finishing is not only a theme in the advertising and the processing industries, but also in the areas of sports and leisure clothing, in design, shop fitting and trade fair construction, architecture and decoration, to name but a few. A must for visitors from the marketing, media and creative fields as well as from object design and visual merchandising.

The viscom BEST of 2012 AWARD is also granted in the categories of Textile Finishing - Machinery, Material and Tools and in large Format Printing/LFP, to name but a few, in order to distinguish exhibitors for products, technologies or processes. All exhibiting companies which can present trends and innovations in the respective categories can participate. The prize is also awarded in the Signmaking, Light Advertising and Software categories. The award presentation ceremony will be held on the first day of the trade fair, 25 October 2012.
