Quest for textile technology ends at India ITME 2012

India’s most prestigious Textile Machinery Show is to be held in Mumbai from 2nd to 7th December 2012 at Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai, India. India ITME 2012 is a much awaited and spectacular event showcasing hi-tech machinery, innovative technology and accessories and services related to textile engineering sector and is the “gateway event” to a vast market opportunity.

Indian textile industry is exploding with opportunity and is hungry for technology, machinery and joint venture partners to enable them meet the market demand. The Indian textile industry has a unique position as it is a self reliant industry from production of the raw material to fabrics and garment and contribute majorly to employment and economy of the country. 

The opportunities and demand in the Indian domestic textile market are fueled by developing rural markets, increased purchasing power and growing export market. It is expected that the Indian textile and apparel2 Industry will grow 11%, home textile market 9% and technical textile industry 11% in the coming years. The total demand of machinery is 2.22 billion US $ (2008) and the current import meets only 75% of the total demand. Share of the imported machines are estimated to be from US $ 3%, Germany 15, UK 6%, Italy, Korea 6%, with Japan and Switzerland sharing top slot with 20%. India’s demand for machinery is increasing for spinning machines, textile finishing machinery, embroidery and Garment machinery. 
 
The textile industry is in the process of major structural changes including the technology up-gradation, consolidation of capacity, moving up in value chain and upgrading the skill and knowledge of workforce to match with the modern technology. Keeping in view the need of the hour, 9th INDIA ITME is gearing up to usher in the technological revolution needed by the industry for reinventing the business and transforming the output both qualitatively and quantitatively by textile manufacturers.
 
Smart networking and marketing is the key to tap new markets, new customers, consolidate old business and capture the market opportunity at the earliest. Exhibitions are considered the best marketing activity to capture and convince potential customers, cement existing business and speedy culmination of business deals.
 
INDIA ITME 2012 is designed to be the ideal platform and business event for the textile machinery and accessory manufacturers and the organisors are to taking pains to ensure that participating in INDIA ITME is the best business experience for both exhibitors and business visitors.
