IPIC to set up naphtha cracker in Abu Dhabi

International Petroleum Investment Co., owned by the Abu Dhabi government, is planning to construct 70,000 barrels per day naphtha cracker facility in the Emirate, Salem Kelil, technical adviser to the government, said while speaking at a conference in Dubai.
 
The official also informed that the United Arab Emirates government is exploring for crude oil in Fujairah, where it plans to set up a petrochemical plant.
 
He informed that the government is currently conducting seismic surveys at both on and off-shore locations across Fujairah to find potential deposits.
 
The government has already drilled wells at three places, but no oil was found, he said.
 
He added that the government may call for investment for constructing the petrochemical plant in Fujairah.
