He said if cotton growers are provided with technical support and up-to-date information from crop cultivation to reaping, transportation and storage facilities by the agriculture department, this could help in enhancing the country’s cotton output.

Last seaon, Pakistani ginners exported 1.3 million bales of cotton and this year the volume is likely to grow two-fold, he said.

According to Mr. Qureshi, PCGA’s efforts saved farmers from additional tax burden of Pk Rs. 300 million.
