Naturaline presents detailed information on bioRe textiles

The Spreitenbach Arena presents an interactive and playfully devised exhibition of ecological ideas, blueprints and technologies related to sustainable modern-day living. The bioRe textiles are on show as well.

Coop of Switzerland, one of the Arena’s main partners, appears in the exhibition’s nature and life section. They draw from nature the resources they need to survive, but these resources are limited. Coop demonstrates how economic growth, population development and climate change are interconnected.

The Naturaline section of a virtual supermarket presents detailed information on bioRe textiles. For example, a person stepping into a changing cubicle will suddenly find themselves in India, experiencing how many steps are involved in making a bioRe T-shirt and how much added value Remei AG’s fair-trade organic-cotton textiles produce for man and the environment.

The permanent exhibition opened to the public at the end of August 2012. Its objective is to co-shape Switzerland’s and the Swiss’ use of energy and resources, and to promote sustainable behaviour. The idea is to demonstrate to the public the value of reasonable and sustainable consumption. Walter Schmid, co-owner of W. Schmid AG, a construction company and general contractor, is the man who launched and funded Umwelt Arena. He is an environmental pioneer ho has spent the past 30 years dealing with environmental issues.
