Chinese benzene market consolidates on tight supply

Pure benzene market in China is maintaining consolidation on high level owing to tight supply.
Downstream manufacturers are purchasing benzene as per their immediate requirement and actual transactions are few.
Currently, pure benzene transaction price in East China market is in the range of 10,150-10,200 yuan/ton, while the prices are in the range of 9,850-10,000 yuan/ton and 10,100-10,200 yuan/ton in South China and North China markets, respectively.
Tight supply supports the market to operate at high level, but the demand from downstream buyers is not likely to see any improvement.
Meanwhile, the South China branch of Sinopec is offering benzene at 10,000 yuan/ton. Inventory pressure is not high and production and sales are normal.
