Paramount Sleep partners with bedding producer Biscayne
Nov '12
Paramount Sleep has partnered with Miami-based bedding manufacturer Biscayne Bedding International to produce Paramount’s portfolio of bedding brands. The partnership will expand Paramount Sleep’s distribution in Florida.

This is Paramount Sleep’s third such partnership expanding its national distribution. Earlier agreements with Fresno, Calif.-based Cannon Sleep Products and Omaha, Neb.-based Omaha Bedding expanded the company’s presence from its Norfolk, Va., plant into western and mid-western markets.

“We are delighted to broaden our distribution with a family-owned company like Biscayne,” said Jamie Diamonstein, president of Paramount Sleep. “Jan and Silke are moving the company in the right direction and we look forward to being an integral part of their future growth as they expand into a larger facility.”

Jan and Silke Wettergren purchased the 60-year-old Biscayne Bedding in early 2011 after gaining more than 20 years of experience in the bedding industry. Jan most recently served Spring Air as senior vice president of operations. Prior to that he gained operational expertise as vice president of operations for Serta International. Silke serves Biscayne as executive vice president overseeing marketing and sales training.

“Combining Paramount Sleep’s marketing leadership with Biscayne’s operational expertise makes this a marriage that will last,” noted Jan. “They have their finger on the pulse of the bedding industry and have a good feel for what needs to be done over the next five to 10 years. We look forward to following their lead to grow our business.”

Biscayne Bedding has built a strong executive team over the last year. In addition to Jan and Silke Wettergren, Jim Dilling serves as vice president of sales, bringing to Biscayne more than 22 years of sales experience in the mattress industry, and works alongside David Strong.

Paramount Sleep is truly a company of bedding people, dedicated to carrying on its legacy of integrity, innovation and American made craftsmanship for 80 years.
