More than half of global synthetic fibre production capacity continues to be concentrated in China.

In September 2012, China’s synthetic fibre output reached 2.979 million tons, showing a growth of 7.95 percent year-on-year, according to the relevant data.

China’s total man-made fibre production in the first three quarters of 2012 touched 25.566 million tons, growing at a rate of 9.75 percent year-on-year.

At this pace, China will produce more than fifty percent of global synthetic fibre output during the current year, according to industry experts.

Last year, global synthetic fibre (except polyolefin fibre) production stood at 53.27 million tons, rising at 4.7 percent year-on-year.

In 2010, the world produced 50.86 million tons of man-made fibres, increasing at 1.2 percent year-on-year.
