China continues to procure cotton for state reserves

Chinese Government is continuing with its purchase of cotton for state reserves and as of November 21, 2012, over 3 million tons of cotton was bought during the current season.
 
While over 1.735 million tons of cotton was purchased from Xinjiang, another 912,340 tons of cotton was procured from inland areas.
 
On November 21, the state planned to procure 150,820 tons of cotton, but it was actually able to buy only 62,740 tons of cotton, an increase of 15,960 tons over the previous day.
 
The government was able to buy all the planned 31,000 tons of cotton from Xinjiang, but it managed to purchase only 31,740 tons of the planned 119,820 tons of cotton from inland areas.
