Creativity, commercial development, future technology and sustainability were the emerging themes from the presentations given to delegates over the two day International Conference on Textile Coating and Laminating (TCL) in Valencia, Spain on 15-16 November.

TCL2012, organized by International Newsletters Ltd., provided delegates with the opportunity to meet respected representatives of the coating and laminating industry, to exchange ideas and discuss commercial prospects. This was ideal for both technical and marketing sides of the businesses and research institutions attending the conference.

There was something of interest from all aspects of technical textiles, from medical and smart textiles to nanotechnology and nonwovens. Speakers presented papers examining the future development of the industry, how technology is creating new markets with new processes, materials and machinery and how issues such as ecological responsibility are shaping these developments.

There were one hundred attendees from over twenty countries worldwide. Initial feedback from delegates included comments such as “The congress was great and really interesting! Thanks a lot.” “This is simply to congratulate you for the conference last week in Valencia.”

“I'd like to inform you that I enjoyed the conference a lot and this was a great opportunity to know other fields of our business.” “I have enjoyed all the presentations a lot and I feel that it was a good mix of both commercial and scientific approach.”

One of the exhibitors at the conference, Morchem, also commented, “We are very happy with the feedback we got on the conference. New ideas, good networking, nice place to be. We will certainly participate again.”
