There has been a slight increase in China’s textile output during the first ten months of the current year. However, the pace of growth has been less compared to last year.

From January to October, the output of about 37,000 large-scale textile enterprises in China totaled 4.681 trillion yuan, showing a growth of 11.3 percent year-on-year. The growth rate was, however, much less than over 28 percent y-o-y growth achieved during corresponding period of last year.

Among the main product categories of large-scale Chinese textile enterprises, the output of man-made fibres reached 31.629 million tons during January to October 2012, representing a rise of 11.8 percent year-on-year, according to National Bureau of Statistics.

Similarly, 52.35 billion metres of fabric was produced during the ten-month period, a year-on-year rise of 9.9 percent, while apparel production was registered at 21.91 billion pieces, an increase of 6.4 percent year-on-year.

However, the output of yarn declined by 2.3 percent year-on-year during the period under review.
