A bullish trend was witnessed in Chinese nylon chips market and the prices increased by nearly 300 yuan/ton compared to the previous week.

In East China market, the prices of conventional spinning nylon chips were in the range of 18,500-19,000 yuan/ton, while the prices of nylon high-speed spinning chips were in the range of 20,500-21,000 yuan/ton.

The prices of high-speed spinning slices produced by Taiwan were quoted slightly higher at US$ 2,650/ton and a slightly improved trading atmosphere was visible.

In East China, the prices of nylon DTY 70D/24F semi-dull were steady in the range of 27,500-28,000 yuan/ton. However, there is slight concession in actual negotiations. Manufacturers currently have inventory levels of about 30 days.

The prices of nylon FDY 40D/12F semi-dull were in the range of 27,000-27,500 yuan/ton. The prices of nylon POY and nylon HOY remained same as those prevailing a week earlier.

Since late September, Chinese nylon chips and caprolactam markets entered a downturn, but the prices of benzene remained at high level.

At present, inventory pressure with nylon manufacturers has eased and hence the market is currently witnessing a short-term rise trend.
