The third edition of the annual international event Coir Kerala 2013, world’s largest expo on coir and natural fibre products, is going to take place in India’s southernmost coir hub of Allapuzha, Kerala, from February 1-5, 2013.

With an aim to strengthen the country’s coir industry and improve the lives of people associated with it, the upcoming fair will serve as a promotional platform for the coir makers.

The forthcoming event is likely to be attended by more than 200 domestic buyers and over 150 international coir and natural fibre specialists from nearly 75 nations.

Along with an expansive display of coir and natural fibre products, latest technologies in coir processing and machinery would also be featured at the expo.

Seminars and discussions providing valuable insight into the future trends of coir industry, as well as other entertaining and promotional activities such as competitions for school children and skill contests for coir workers will additionally be organized on the sidelines of the fair.

Coir Kerala 2013 will be jointly hosted by the Department of Coir Development and the Government of Kerala and will be coordinated by the National Coir Research & Management Institute (NCRMI).
