Scarlet & Argent by Hainsworth, a stunning collection of exquisite woollen blankets, throws and accessories launched at Home in January 2012 and is now stocked in John Lewis and Liberty as well as online at www.scarletandargent.co.uk.
The 2013 collection introduces fresh and vibrant designs to its contemporary classics with new colors including berry, lavender, mint, olive, damson and mushroom. The new collection also includes cushions, hot water bottle cover, a new pure wool baby blanket, a cashmere teddy bear and a stunning white Chinese cashmere blanket.
Each piece in the Scarlet & Argent collection is created exclusively in Hainsworth’s specialist Yorkshire mill, one of the oldest woollen mills in Europe, from the selection of the raw wool to the hand-finished touches.
Hainsworth is a company instilled with a stunning heritage that spans across seven family generations and is synonymous with some of the most iconic moments in British history since 1783.
It has been a luxury fabric supplier to the world’s royalty for decades, including Queen Elizabeth II, and has exclusively supplied ceremonial woollen cloth to the Ministry of Defence which can be seen on the iconic Royal Guards standing outside Buckingham Palace.
Its cloth covers the famous Woolsack in the House of Lords, features regularly in blockbuster movies such as Harry Potter and was used to make the uniforms worn by Princes William and Harry at the Royal Wedding.
The Scarlet & Argent Collection
Beautiful in their simplicity, timeless in style and exquisite in their detail, Scarlet & Argent woollen blankets, throws and accessories effortlessly enhance the look of your home to create inviting interiors that exude relaxed elegance and contemporary charm.
Claiborne Blanket – Inspired by the Old English translation for ‘born of the earth’, the Claiborne baby blanket will keep your little one wrapped up warm. With its delicately finished stitching around the edge and its cosy hood, this pure wool blanket provides comfort and reassurance to keep both you and your baby happy. Colors available: white with blue stitch, white with pink stitch.
Cashmere Blanket – Using only the finest white Chinese cashmere, these unbelievably soft blankets are woven with the greatest care and attention to detail. This sublime craftsmanship comes together to produce a pure white, luxury blanket which is bound in the finest satin and is big enough for the whole family to enjoy. Available in white.
Dale & Moor Throw – Inspired by the Yorkshire countryside’s color palette, our eco-friendly Dale & Moor Throws are a modern tribute to a traditional wool drying process in which cloth was stretched over wooden tenter frames and pinned in place with hooks. This process is also the historic origin of the saying ‘on tenterhooks’. Colors available: copper, natural, dark olive, sky blue, heather, soft lime.
