Tongsuh shuts ACN line, cuts rates at two other lines

South Korea based Tongsuh Petrochemical has shutdown an Acrylonitrile (ACN) line and is operating the two other ACN lines at reduced capacities at their plant in Ulsan, which has a ACN production capacity of 560,000 tons per annum.
“We have shutdown ACN line no - 4 and are operating line no – 2 and line no – 3, at 85 percent production rates”, a Tongsuh company official told fibre2fashion.
When quizzed on the reasons for doing so, he said, “We have done so, due to decline in demand from the market”.
Tongsuh operates three ACN lines in Ulsan. Line no – 2 has a production capacity of 70,000 tons / year and line no - 3 and line no – 4 have capacities of 245,000 tons / year, each.
