PolyOne names Julie McAlindon as President

Concurrent with the acquisition of Spartech, PolyOne will establish DSS, which will be primarily comprised of Spartech’s former Custom Sheet and Rollstock and Packaging Technologies businesses.

“Since Julie joined PolyOne three years ago, she has been an integral part of PolyOne’s Specialty transformation.  She understands our customers, our key markets and how to deliver value that distinguishes us in the marketplace,” said Robert M. Patterson, executive vice president and chief operating officer. 

“Julie also has the requisite leadership qualities and change management skills that will be critical during the integration process and transformational journey now commencing at DSS.  She and her family are relocating to the St. Louis area, which will continue as the DSS center of innovation excellence.”

Ms. McAlindon previously served as vice president, marketing, where she successfully collaborated with commercial and technology teams on initiatives that have driven profitable growth at PolyOne in key markets, such as healthcare, electronics and automotive. 

She joined PolyOne after a 20-year career with The Dow Chemical Company, during which time she held commercial assignments of increasing responsibility focused on strategic marketing and business leadership. In these roles, she gained extensive knowledge and global experience in operations, finance, product management and strategic marketing. Ms. McAlindon earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
