China outlines cotton purchase & storage plan for 2013-14

China has released the outline of its temporary purchase and storage of cotton plan for 2013-14 season.
The plan would be executed during the period September 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014.
The Government of China has been implementing the buying and storage of cotton in order to stabilize cotton production, meet market expectation of operators and cotton enterprises, to protect the interests of farmers, and to ensure adequate market supply.
As per the outline, the purchase price of standard grade cotton, i.e. three grade white cotton of length 28mm, would be 20,400 yuan/ton delivered to the warehouse.
Further details would be released by the China Cotton Association.
