Chinese large-scale textile firms' output grows in Jan-Feb

About 38,000 large-scale textile enterprises in China produced goods valued at 847.51 billion yuan in the first two months of 2013, showing an increase of 12.1 percent year-on-year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics and Chinese customs data.
 
The 12.1 percent year-on-year growth rate was same as the growth rate achieved during the same period last year.
 
The large-scale textile enterprises earned business income of 820.33 billion yuan, showing an increase of 14.3 percent year-on-year, compared to growth rate of 11.5 percent observed during same period of last year.
 
These enterprises earned a total profit of 37.85 billion yuan during the two-month period, registering an increase of 14.3 percent year-on-year. Last year, the total profit of large-scale textile enterprises was negative during the same period.
 
The investment in fixed assets for projects valued at over five million yuan in the textile sector crossed 137.14 billion yuan in January-February 2013, showing an increase of 16.4 percent year-on-year. The growth in textile sector investment was 15.8 percent during the same period last year.
