Yeochun Naphtha restarts aromatics plant after turnaround

Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Center (YNCC) which had shut its No.1 aromatics plant for maintenance turnaround on April 29, 2013, has started the restarting process. 

According to a company official, the plant is expected to resume production from May 13.
 
Yeochun Naphtha operates three aromatics plants at Yeosu in South Korea.
 
Aromatics plant no.1 has benzene capacity of 160,000 mt/year, solvent-grade MX capacity of 80,000 mt/year and toluene capacity of 100,000 mt/year.
 
Aromatics plant no. 2 has benzene capacity of 120,000 mt/year, solvent-grade MX capacity of 50,000 mt/year and toluene capacity of 70,000 mt/year.
 
Aromatics plant no. 3 has benzene capacity of 110,000 mt/year, solvent-grade MX capacity of 30,000 mt/year and toluene capacity of 60,000 mt/year.
 
When quizzed on turnarounds at the other two aromatics plants, the official said that they have not yet decided about the maintenance turnaround, but will depend on the condition of the catalyst.
