Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan rejects the notion that Turkey is lagging behind other countries in the field of textiles and apparels. Rather, he said that it is blooming and they are head on head with other countries.

Speaking at the 6th Fashion Apparel Conference Istanbul organized by Istanbul Clothing Manufacturers Association, he said that, he feels the conference would work to attract increasing number of entrepreneurs to venture into the Turkish market.

Regarding his trip to the US scheduled for May 16, the premier said boosting economic ties and trade between the two countries would form a part of his domestic affairs agenda.

This is because the bilateral trade between the two countries now stand at about US$ 20 billion, which is quite insignificant.
