The first edition of Texmeeting by Texfor, to be held under the theme ‘The Industry is Fashion’, will be held on July 9, 2013, as part of the 080 Barcelona Fashion in Spain.

The aim of the meeting is to provide a discussion forum for finding solutions to different aspects of the textile sector and create the right framework to expand the professional network of participants.

The event, being held with the support of the Consortium of Commerce, Handicraft & Fashion (CCAM) of the Generalitat de Catalunya, would focus on innovation and design in yarns, fabrics and accessories, and how these affect fashion.

The first edition of Texmeeting by Texfor will have four sessions in different formats like Roundtable Presentation and Case Study, where top-level speakers will participate. Relevant representatives of the Government and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism would also be attending some of the sessions.

The speakers would address various issues such as textile design, internationalization, entrepreneurship and labour relations.

Texfor is the Textile Industry Confederation that brings together major textile associations and represents and defends the collective interest of Spanish textile companies that manufacture or sell yarns, fabrics, textile and clothing, as well as those firms that manufacture finishing and/or prints for apparel markets, and household, technical and industrial uses.

At present, Texfor represents 3,894 companies, mostly SMEs, with a total turnover of €4,755 million and employ 42,873 people.
