Successfully completing a series of short production runs is a key element of the product development cycle. Implementing the process, establishing capacity, validating quality on the production scale, and locking in the supply and logistics chain are key objectives over the next few months.
The initial production trials have already resulted in valuable insight and progress regarding key milestones for full scale process implementation and establishing production capacity. “We see opportunities for optimization and refinement, and allocating our resources to produce consistent production output. Advancements on the technical front learnt from the production process will also naturally lead to near-term revenue growth.” stated Stefan Susta, Alexium’s Chief Operating Officer.
“This next stage production trial will determine the key processing parameters and sensitivity ranges that will ensure repeatable results that meet Duro’s and other customer’s expectations. We are committed to a product that not only fully performs to specifications but also meets the highest quality standards off the production floor, stated Dirk van Hyning, Alexium’s Head of Product Development and Commercial Transition.
About Alexium
Alexium International Group Limited holds proprietary patent applications for a process developed initially by the US Department of Defense, which allows for the surface modification and attachment of nano-particles or multiple chemical functional groups to surfaces or substrates to provide functions such as water proofing, oil proofing, anti-microbial, non-stick and UV protection.
Applications under development include but are not limited to textiles, paints, packaging, glass and building materials. Alexium’s fire retardant treatment for 95% Nylon based products is marketed under the Ascalon trademark. Alexium’s fire retardant treatment for nylon blended materials such as nylon/cotton (Nyco), is marketed under the Nycolon trade mark.
