The headquarters of the innovation center would be at Pachuca, also known as the city of Knowledge and Culture, in Hidalgo.

The Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco) has released the master plan which sets out in detail the features and services that will be offered by the innovation center, reports Criterio Hidalgo.

The plan presents a chain of diagnosis for the textile-apparel center including the supply of technology, strategies, financial economic model for the center, conceptual architectural design, and the role of each of the centers as well as the institutions and companies that will be involved in the project.

The National Textile Industry, the National Chamber of the Apparel Industry, the National Institute of Entrepreneurship, the National Council for Science and Technology and the National Polytechnic Institute would be the agencies working with the Government of Hidalgo to set up the center.

The estimated total investment for the development of the center is 235 million Mexican pesos.

The innovation center is the 77th commitment made during the campaign of the current President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto.

The construction of the center would increase the competitiveness of the textile and apparel industries in the state.

The second stage of the project comprises of the executive proposal for the construction of the innovation center whose operations are expected to begin in 2014.
