The Interwoven Globe exhibition would feature 134 works, about two-thirds of which are drawn from the Metropolitan Museum’s own rich, encyclopedic collection, while the others are augmented through domestic and international loans from various museums.

The exhibit would display numerous flat textiles including lengths of fabric, curtains, wall hangings, bedcovers, and tapestries, costumes, church vestments, and pieces of seating furniture—all trying to depict the worldwide textile designs beginning from the 16th century to the early 19th century.
