Turkish textile R&D center to offer discounts to TMHGF

The Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Association ITA Education, Research and Consulting Company Limited (ITKIB ITA), the Turkish textile and apparel sector’s first research and development (R&D) center, has signed a cooperation protocol with Turkey Fashion and Apparel Federation (TMHGF), under which it would be offering the members of TMHGF discounts.

The cooperation protocol would benefit over 7,000 members of the federation who would be able to avail 20 percent discount on all ITKIB ITA accredited testing laboratories services, R & D services, training and consulting services.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ismail Gulle, president of Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Association (ITHIB), said if you look at the history of manufacturing giants such as China, Germany, and Korea, the driving force behind these countries’ sustainable growth in the manufacturing sector, are the resources devoted for R&D activities.

Turkey has realized the importance of R&D for growth in the textile and apparel sector, and it is necessary to create awareness regarding R&D activities in the Turkish textile sector, in order to achieve success and increase international competition, he added.

Mr. Gulle said the cooperation with TMHGF would contribute significantly towards the effort of creating an environment for R&D activities, and the protocol would serve as a stepping stone towards better and newer inventions in the textile and apparel sector.

Under the protocol the TMHGF members can avail ITKIB ITA Nanotech equipments, fiber spinning units, digital fabric printing technologies, such as coating-laminating line, as well as numerous technical services and R&D laboratory facilities at 20 percent discounted rates.
