The Mexican state of Aguascalientes would be getting a new textile and apparel technology center, which would facilitate the state’s textile sector and place it at a more predominant position in order to contribute towards the nation’s economy.

The Governor of Aguascalientes, Carlos Lozano de la Torre, recently held a meeting with director of Center for Advanced Technology (CIATEQ), Francisco Anton Gabelich, and discussed prospects of setting up the technology centre, reports El Sol De Centro.

The objective of establishing the tecnology center is to provide firms operating in the textile industry with a space for enabling development processes in terms of raw materials, machinery and manufacturing of clothing, among other services.

The textile and apparel technology center would be established and operated with the help of the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico (CONACYT).

Governor Carlos Lozano de la Torre said the textile and garment industry of Aguascalientes gives identity to the state and hence, it is necessary to maintain steady work and make efforts to establish strategies which consolidate the textile and apparel industry’s growth and development.

The technology center would also include installation of a specialty vessel which would provide textile and apparel sector firms with the necessary tools and equipments for initiating research programs and projects in order to develop the sector further.

On his part, Francisco Anton Gabelich, director general of CIATEQ, welcomed the interest of the state government and ensured that CIATEQ would extend necessary support towards establishment of the textile technology center in the state.
