Ethylene prices move up in US; decline in Southeast Asia

Paraxylene (PX) prices increased marginally in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, PX prices surged and were quoted in the range of US$ 1220/ton to US$ 1225/ton. In the F E Asian market, PX prices increased and were assessed at US$ 1200/ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market kept inert and were offered in the range of US$ 1215/ton to US$ 1220/ton.
 
PTA prices kept stable in the Asian region. In the S E Asian market, PTA prices remained steady and were assessed in the range of US$ 865/ton to US$ 870/ton. In the F E Asian market, PTA prices stayed steady and were quoted at US$ 860/ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market kept unchanged and were assessed in the range of US$ 855/ton to US$ 860/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices were steady and offered in the range of RMB 6050/ton to RMB 6100/ton.
 
Ethylene prices showed varied trend in Asian markets. In the S E Asian market, Ethylene prices declined and were quoted in the range of US$ 1455/ton to US$ 1460/ton. In the F E Asian region, Ethylene prices stayed stable and were offered at US$ 1375/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices increased and were assessed in the range of 54.00 cents/pound to 54.50 cents/pound. Ethylene prices were steady in the European international as well as domestic markets and were assessed at US$ 1205/ton and € 885/ton, respectively.
 
MEG prices remained steady in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, MEG prices kept steady and were offered at US$ 905/ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices remained steady and were quoted in the range of US$ 895/ton to US$ 900/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices increased in the range of RMB 6675/ton to RMB 6725/ton.
 
In the S E Asian region, prices of BG PET Chips were stable in the range of US$ 1330/ton to US$ 1370/ton, and some deals were concluded in the range of US$ 1340/ton to US$ 1380/ton. In the F E Asian market, selling offers remained steady in the range of US$ 1350/ton to US$ 1390/ton, while talked prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1360/ton to US$ 1400/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices kept inert and were quoted in the range of RMB 8275/ton to RMB 8325/ton.
 
In the Korean market, FG PET Chips prices stayed unaltered and were quoted in the range of US$ 1150/ton to US$ 1190/ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1220/ton to US$ 1250/ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips prices increased and were quoted in the range of RMB 7900/ton to RMB 7950/ton.
 
PSF prices remained steady in the Asian region. In the F E Asian market, PSF prices were assessed at US$ 1405/ton. In the S E Asian market, PSF selling prices were quoted at US$ 1305/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices increased and were offered in the range of RMB 8675/ton to RMB 8725/ton.
 
In the Chinese domestic market, Polyester POY, DTY and FDY prices kept steady and were quoted at RMB 8950/ton, RMB 10700/ton and RMB 9300/ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY, DTY, and FDY remained steady at US$ 1200/ton, US$ 1435/ton, and US$ 1235/ton, respectively.
