Global PTA output to touch 74,717 thousand tons by 2020

The estimated global production of PTA in 2020 is expected to reach 74,717 thousand tons from the current level of 54,033 thousand tons or up 38.28 percent, a new report – ‘Global Polyester Value Chain Market Analysis & Forecast 2014-2020’ published by Fibre2fashion reveals.

Apart from future estimates, the latest report also shows that global production of PTA was estimated at 54,033 thousand tons during 2013 against 18,529 thousand tons in 2004, a whopping increase of around 191 percent or a near three-fold jump in just 10 years.

The production of PTA in the world has registered CAGR growth of 11.17 percent during the period 2004 to 2013. In the world pecking order, China is the top producer of PTA followed by Korea, Taiwan, India, Thailand and United States.

Apart from future production trends of PTA, the report also carries in-depth information and trends on world’s supply and demand, export and import up to 2020.
