A variety of market-related programming – including seminars, events and special promotions – has been added at Pier 94 for the summer 2014 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, August 16-20. These value-added activities are offered, at no charge, to NY NOW participants, as well as participants in IMPULSE at NY NOW, Artisan Resource and SOURCENY –  three other Emerald Expositions trade events running concurrently with NY NOW’s NEW!

“Pier 94 has become a busy market hub, with more than 600 exhibitors in four synergistic markets, and NY NOW programming has expanded in line with this growth,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and senior vice president. “From daily breakfasts and end-of-day receptions to all-day education and a special FIAT promotion, Pier 94 offers something for all market participants.”

NY NOW buyer hospitality at Pier 94 begins each morning at 8:30 am, with a free one-hour “Fresh Start Breakfast”, and concludes each evening at 5pm, with a free “Happy Hour Reception.”  In addition to these NEW! Collection offerings, Artisan Resource also will host a special “Opening Day Reception” on Saturday, August 16, from 6pm – 8pm, at Pier 94.

NY NOW also will extend its educational offerings at Pier 94 to include a multi-part series of online marketing sessions offered in partnership with SnapRetail!, as well as a retail strategies seminar. On opening day, Saturday, August 16, 12 noon – 1pm, Susan Tucker of Giftware News and Baby & Kids and Helen Overly of NY NOW will present, “Keeping It Fresh: Tips to Engage Customers, Excite Staff and Increase Sales.”

A first-ever partnership with SnapRetail! will offer Pier 94 exhibitors and attendees 15-minute mini-seminars, daily at 11am, 12 noon, 3pm and 4pm, August 16-19.  In total, 16 free sessions addressing social media and email marketing, will address: “Using Facebook Contests to Drive Sales,” “Create Your Social Media Business Page in 5 Minutes or Less,” “How to Grow Your Social Media Fanbase,” “Optimal Image Sizes for Social Media,” “5 Tips for Creating Social Media Cover Pages,” “Demystifying Facebook Advertising,” “Most Effective Ways to Collect Email Addresses,” and “Top Email Subject Lines that Get Results.”
