Propylene prices showed mixed trends in Asia last week. Prices went up in Korea, while they stayed stable in Japan and went down in S E Asia.

Prices were assessed at US$ 1380/ton in Korea on Monday last week, which went up during the week and were assessed at US$ 1395/ton by the end of the last week. The price rise was attributed to tight availability and higher demand for downstream products in the region.

Prices remained stable in Japan during the week at US$ 1375/ton. In China, prices went up marginally to US$ 1460/ton.

In S E Asia, prices were assessed at US$ 1300/ton in the beginning of the week under review, which went down marginally and were spotted at US$ 1295/ton at the end of the week due to dull buying interest and ample product availability.
