The workers unions of Sri Bharathi Mills and Swadeshi Cotton Mills in Puducherry, located on the eastern coast of India, recently held a joint meeting to urge the Government of Puducherry to set up a textile park in the Union Territory, similar to the ones coming up in the neighboring areas of Tamil Nadu.

Stressing on the need to create a textile park in Puducherry, he said it would not be difficult to set up a textile part, as the infrastructure for setting up the textile park was already available.
All the three textile mills based in Puducherry—AFT Mills, Sri Bharathi Mills, and Swadeshi Cotton Mills—should be integrated to create a textile park, he said.
