Japanese computerized flat knitting machine producer Shima Seiki said it will exhibit at the upcoming OTM 2014 Middle East Textile Machinery Exhibition in Gaziantep, Turkey in October.

This participation comes back-to-back with a private exhibition Shima Seiki held in Turkey in collaboration with its Turkish sales distributor earlier last month.

On display at OTM 2014, will be two models of Shima Seiki’s new SVR series computerized flat knitting machine, in 5G coarse gauge and 14G fine gauge applications.

“The SVR is a workhorse machine that has become the new industry standard with the latest in computerized flat knitting technology,” Shima Seiki said.

“With SVR, Shima Seiki establishes a new benchmark for shaped knitting in the tradition of the company’s legendary SES and SSG machines,” it added.

Shima Seiki will hold demonstrations on the SDS-ONE APEX3 design system that is at the core of the company’s “Total Knitting System” concept.

“APEX3 integrates knit production into one smooth and efficient workflow from planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion,” Shima Seiki informed.

Photo-realistic simulation capability allows virtual sampling to minimize the need for actual sample-making, effectively reducing time, material and cost while increasing presentation quality in the sampling process.

“Products can be checked using 3D simulation as well, such as 3D modeling, 3D fitting and 3D mapping,” the knitting machine producer explained.

APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing. (AR)
