Hyundai Cosmo Petrochemicals, the 50:50 joint venture founded in November 2009 by Hyundai Oilbank of Korea and Cosmo Oil of Japan, is planning maintenance shutdown at its No.1 aromatics plant next year.

“Maintenance turnaround at No.1 aromatics plant is likely to begin in April or May 2015, and the plant will remain shut for about one and half months,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

“The plant is currently operating at 100 percent capacity rates,” the official further informed.

The No.1 aromatics plant is located in Daesan, South Korea and has an annual capacity to produce 380000 tons of paraxylene (PX) and 120000 tons of benzene. (RKS)
