Asian markets register fall in PX, PTA & MEG prices

Paraxylene (PX) prices decreased in Asian markets. PX prices decreased in SE Asia, where they ranged between US$ 855 and 860 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PX prices went down to US$ 840 per ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market increased to a range of US$ 885 to 890 per ton.

PTA prices plunged in Asia. SE Asian market witnessed a decrease in PTA prices ranging between US$ 695 and 700 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PTA prices went down to US$ 675 per ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market went up to a range of US$ 685 to 690 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices decreased to a range of RMB 4895 to 4945 per ton.

Ethylene prices showed mixed trend in Asian markets. In the SE Asian market, Ethylene prices declined and they ranged between US$ 1085 and 1090 per ton. In the FE Asian market, Ethylene prices were stable at US$ 1045 per ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices surged ranging between 42.00 to 42.50 cents per pound. Ethylene prices plunged in the European international as well as in domestic markets to US$ 1055 per ton and € 880 per ton, respectively.

MEG prices decreased in Asia. In SE Asia, MEG prices went down to US$ 790 per ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices increased ranging between US$ 815 to 820 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices decreased to a range of RMB 5905 to 5955 per ton.

In SE Asia, prices of BG PET Chips remained unaffected ranging between US$ 1085 to 1125 per ton, and some deals were concluded in the range of US$ 1095 to 1135 per ton. In the FE Asian market, selling offers were stable in the range of US$ 1105 to 1145 per ton, while talked prices hovered in the range of US$ 1115 to 1155 per ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips’ prices were stable ranging between RMB 7475 to 7525 per ton.

In the Korean market, prices of FG PET Chips remained unaffected in the range between US$ 985 and 1015 per ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices hovered in the range of US$ 995 to 1025 per ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips’ prices declined ranging between RMB 6775 and 6825 per ton.

PSF prices plunged in Asia. In the FE Asian market, PSF prices declined to US$ 1135 per ton. In the SE Asian market, PSF selling prices went down to US$ 1035 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices decreased and they were assessed between RMB 7875 and 7900 per ton.

In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY, DTY and FDY were stable at RMB 8200 per ton, RMB 10300 per ton and RMB 8100 per ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY, DTY and FDY declined to US$ 1095 per ton, US$ 1390 per ton and US$ 1065 per ton, respectively.
