Dec '14
DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR in partnership with Floor Covering Weekly (FCW) returns with the GreenStep Asia Awards for its second edition in 2015.

The award honours individuals and organizations working to advance sustainability in floor covering through products and processes.

The competition is open to any manufacturer in the world that has manufacturing facilities in Asia and where they apply the principles of environmental sustainability.

It features four awards categories for the flooring industry namely; Best Green product, Best Green practice/process, Best Green promotion/communication and Best Green pinnacle.

An authoritative jury composed of leaders from some of the world’s most famous flooring and green associations will judge the winner of the GreenStep awards.

FCW launched the GreenStep Awards in 2008 and is now recognized by all major US flooring industry associations and suppliers.

At DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR 2014, GreenStep Asia Awards were launched for Asia for the first time.

The winners were, Flatten Bamboo Flooring by Dasso Industrial in Green Product category, Novalis Innovative for Green Process and Weihai Shanhua Carpet for Green Pinnacle category. (AR)

“Our hope is to raise awareness of the issues surrounding environmental sustainability; to recognize the significant investments, efforts and progress made by Asia manufacturers,” said Santiago Montero, publisher of FCW.

“As a judge of last year’s program, I have been impressed with the level of commitment we’re seeing from many Asia suppliers and the level of innovation that continue to drive our industry forward,” he added. (AR)
