An impressive array of new and designer home fashion collections from over 150 companies from seven countries are on display at Ambiente & Heimtextil India, which opened today at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

Santosh Kumar Gangwar, minister of state for textiles was present at the inauguration of the three-day co-joint fairs for the interior décor and home furnishing industry in the country.

“India is home to some of the world’s biggest manufacturers of home textiles and has emerged as the world’s second largest textile exporter, behind only China. This extraordinary gathering of textile fraternity members along with interior décor, furnishing industry players at Ambiente & Heimtextil India reaffirms that India continues to be an attractive market for domestic and international consumer good brands,” said Gangwar.

He hoped that the fairs will provide the much-needed opportunity to domestic traders to enhance their business and aid the growth and promotion of Indian textiles.

The co-joint fairs, organised by Messe Frankfurt, showcase a variety of products, fabrics and designs in home furnishing categories of bedroom, bath linen, table linen, kitchen textiles, window decorations, furniture fabric salon, textile floor coverings, etc along with premium choices in dining, living and giving products.

Having made its debut in India only last year, the combined platform has recorded an increase in exhibition space and level of internationality bringing together leading companies from China, Germany, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, and the US.

“From themed exhibits that offer the latest lifestyle concepts to inspiring product designs, seminar on sustainability and must-experience trend zones, the platform offers a quality experience in terms of business and industry networking,” Messe Frankfurt said in a statement.

“The vast gamut of interior products from India and abroad is sure to fascinate buyers. Be it ‘Luxury Living’ or ‘Small Spaces’ concept, exhibiting companies here have an array of creative, multi-utilitarian and interesting design solutions across product groups and price ranges,” it added.
