Piramyd Retail selects JDA Software Group

JDA Software Group Inc announced that Mumbai, India-based Piramyd Retail Limited is in production with JDA Portfolio software. Piramyd replaced its homegrown system with JDA's Merchandise Management System software to support the company's aggressive growth plans for its lifestyle mass merchandise division, Piramyd Megastore, and supermarket concept, TruMart.
Commenting on its MMS implementation at Piramyd Megastore, Piramyd's vice chairman Nandan Piramal stated, “MMS is a proven head office system as evidenced by the hundreds of successful installs at retailers around the world as well as the real results that JDA has delivered to several companies here in India. JDA's MMS provides us with the most robust functionality and the scalability to support our rapid expansion, which includes growing from seven Piramyd Megastores to 17 Megastores and 12 TruMarts to 100 TruMarts by 2008.”
In addition to MMS, Piramyd will also implement several Arthur® planning applications and Space Planning by Intactix software to address the organization's key business requirements for more precision merchandise planning and inventory execution.
“Now that we have laid the foundation of our technology infrastructure with MMS, we look forward to sharpening our merchandise planning with the sophisticated capabilities of Arthur and Intactix so that we can provide the right product mix for our customers and drive overall operational excellence,” added Abel Correa, Piramyd's chief information officer.
