It was also decided to provide attractive incentives in the staple of higher rates to the sheep breeders for producing finer type of wool. This step will encourage the breeders to produce finer quality of wool with good fibre length by going for less number of sheering. The meeting also recommended exemption of Value Added Tax (VAT) on sale of Raw Wool.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman called for exploring sustainable marketing strategy for wool and woollen products. He asked the extension agencies of the Wool Board and Sheep departments to make coordinated efforts for educating sheep breeders about various schemes of the government. He announced to hold a provincial level sheep breeders conference.
