The global laundry and textile cleaning industry has changed rapidly in recent years. The reason for this is an increasing desire to engage with environmental issues such as water recovery and engery conservation.
VDMA: Environmental protection, recycling and resource conservation play a central role Environmental protection, recycling and resource conservation will play a central role across all exhibitors at Texcare International 2008, which is to be held from 31 May to 4 June 2008 in Frankfurt am Main.
Water, a precious and increasingly scarce resource, raises questions about the use of cutting-edge, resource-saving technology, especially in emerging countries. China, for example, consumes ten times more water than the USA, but only recycles 30 per cent of waste water for industrial purposes.
Resource conservation and energy saving have recently become political issues in China. Further investment is expected in appropriate technologies and measures, above all to ensure that next year`s Olympic Games run smoothly.
It is not just Texcare Asia 2007 in Shanghai which stands to benefit from this increased expenditure but also Texcare International 2008 in Frankfurt.
Demand is increasing for high-end environment-friendly and resource-efficient laundry and textile cleaning equipment: German suppliers of laundry and textile cleaning technology reported record exports of Euro 1.1 bn in 2006, a year-on-year rise of 4,5 per cent.
